TINY HOUSE TWO DOOR AND WINDOWS

In between storms and rain, we've got Tiny House Two at Inverquiech fitted with its door and windows. I had to reduce the height of the door, (because I'd forgotten to allow for the fascia boards and gutters), so made it into a stable door while I was about it.

Tiny House Two is becoming a very pleasant space! and it's been great to work away in the better weather.

I made the windows from scratch using reclaimed double-glazed units and old skirting boards which, amazingly, turned out to be solid mahogany. Stewart bought a table saw for a job on his own tiny house which came in very handy for ripping down the boards into different widths. I'm a big advocate of using hand tools as much as possible but very glad I didn't have to do all that by hand. We used the mahogany for all the trims too.

Kate is planning to use the space for art events of one sort or another as well as extra accommodation and, being so well insulated, as a hibernation retreat during the depths of winter. So hopefully there'll be plenty of opportunities for everyone - especially all the people who've helped to build Tiny House Two - to spend some time there.
